The Bergerie is at Villardonnel (11600), in the Aude department of Languedoc-Roussillon, in the deep south of France. Our local town, 18km to the south, is Carcassonne. On the village edge, it's a quiet residential area with plenty of room for everyone.
The Bergerie and Chalet occupy the north west of their spacious plot, with a shady wooded corner behind the two. The Bergerie, originally a barn, has been converted into a comfortable, modern house with a big living area and three bedrooms, and a lovely south-facing terrace.
The chalet is fully equipped and liveable year-round. It provides living accommodation separate to the Bergerie, or could be used as an office or studio space, a 'kids and teens' zone, or could be rented out.
The grounds are practical and natural, easy to keep tidy, with dry-stone raised beds, a lawn area in front of the Bergerie, and a vegetable patch. There's room to park several cars. It's a great, safe playground for children as it's set back from the road.
Access from UK: Ryanair to Carcassonne airport, 22km. More choice to Toulouse airport, approx 110km. Drive from Dieppe in about 12 hours, Calais about 14 hours.
